The Mini Super Twos family is coming to terms with the loss of #23 Tim Cotter, who passed away earlier this month.

After a lengthy career in Superstox that included winning the Mildenhall Track Championship in 1989 and Jock Lloyd Trophy in 1990 (under the PRI promotion), Tim joined the Mini Super Twos in 2017 with his first wins coming early that year thanks to heat and Final victories at Arena Essex on 25th March. More trophies followed with a heat win at Arlington Stadium on 9th August and then a lucrative day at Yarmouth Stadium on 25th of the same month, with first place in both the Final and All Comers races. Further wins came in subsequent years at Yarmouth and Arlington with top-5 Championship placings in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Away from stock car racing aviation was a large part of Tim’s life, both in profession and personal interest. Working in airline safety Tim oversaw the de-icing process and equipment for passenger flights at Heathrow Airport; with the de-icing formula and application being a very specific task dependent on temperatures, weather conditions and aircraft types, this was a job that required great precision and attention to detail. Tim recently fulfilled an ambition to take a flight in a Spitfire over southern England, an experience he relished and talked about for many months afterwards.

Tim was a family man, father, grandfather, uncle and wonderful friend. From our beginnings Mini Super Twos has been a stock car formula with a focus on family and friendship. In a pit area where drivers readily help each other out Tim could always be found providing assistance to other drivers that needed a hand or offering advice based on his many years around the tracks.

He will be deeply missed by all of us and we race on with him.
